The NZE Foundation is raising money to open the Awegy’s Vocational School in Kigo, Uganda. This school has been designed in response to the harsh reality of life in Uganda for many post-secondary aged children and young adults. A majority of the students who graduate from secondary school are on track to go to Universities, but because of a lack of funding are unable to attend, and so are left to come home and make a life for themselves. This Vocational School is an attempt to give these students the skills they will need in order to make a life for themselves that otherwise they would not have access to. These classes will provide business and life skills that each student can not only use for themselves but share with their communities and pass on the “I am empowered”, “I am capable”, “I am worthy of a good life”, and “I am willing to create the life I deserve” statements to their friends and families, ultimately creating a culture of individuals who not only believe in themselves but believe and empower each other.
Ultimately...
NZE desires to build a bridge to reach these children and to let them know that they are important and that someone is cheering on their every success. However, a bridge is only built through consistent effort, and a relationship bridge can only be built through consistent interaction with the children of Uganda. By organizing groups of like-minded individuals to visit specific villages and thus become a part of the children’s lives, NZE hopes to positively influence the future of Uganda through the lives of its children. NZE hopes to find adults who are willing to be a big brother/sister to the children of Uganda and empower these already very strong people. Even a group of individuals as strong as they can use a friend to cheer them on, and empower them to strive for the lives they not only desire, but deserve!
